My New Kia K2700 Diesel Side Tipper Truck & Trailer for Scrapping - Treasure Hunting - Camping etc
This is my new Kia k2700 Truck and Trailer which I bought around a month ago... you may ask why did I buy this truck when I am possibly going to lose my house... well the reason being is that I urgently needed to upgrade to a more reliable and much more safer vehicle for cashing in my scrap metal.

- Billy, did you mean to say $8400.00 for a bobcat. Because you said $85,000.00 and that would be way to much.
- nice score!!
- A couple of the old style wire mesh bed frames joined together should save some time if you tip sideways as well mate...
- Good little trucks those Kia's, Consider fitting a Turbo kit to it when finances allow. It will help with climbing all the hills on Albany hwy. about $3500 for a kit which will net you 30% more power and reduce your fuel consumption. The side tipper will come in very handy!
- Wonderful. x
- Awesome little truck, love the side tipper.
- I'm looking forward to seeing you deliver a nice scrap load. You'll be one of the biggest suppliers of scrap steel in WA I reckon.
- Very nice! That will help!
- Good to hear things are looking up for you. I missed your videos. Nice truck!
- happy travels!
- It's a good Un Billy :)
- i like it
- This is my new Kia k2700 Truck and Trailer which I bought around a month ago... you may ask why did I buy this truck when I am possibly going to lose my house... well the reason being is that I urgently needed to upgrade to a more reliable and much more safer vehicle for cashing in my scrap metal.
Over the last few years I have been steadily building up my scrap metal, I now have approximately 100 tonnes of good heavy iron steel to cash in at $220 a Tonne.
This scrap metal is to me like my little nest egg, it could also help me save my house (hopefully)
The reason I started scrapping, was to pay my mortgage in my previous business which I lost to the bank, but I continued to scrap daily when ever I was motivated.
Scrapping and as well as metal detecting has been a real life saver for me, Where I come from there is thousands of tonnes of scrap metal all over my area, on farms, the local rubbish dumps, friends farms, at patches of bush (forest) dating back 100 years... it is everywhere and I have free access to it, including permission from my farmer mates who help me out and we go 50/50.
I still have my 1989 Toyota Landcruiser and I will keep that and continue to use my Landcruiser on a daily basis for scrapping metal detecting and so forth, because it has been a great vehicle for me.
I only plan to use the Truck for my Scrap Trips to Perth (Capital City of Western Australia) and I also plan to use the truck for Camping, Touring and Adventures around my State of W.A.
I paid $19000 for the Truck and $2000 for the trailer which is fully enclosed and can fit a Quad Bike in the rear which is awesome.
I am also hoping to get a Canvas Cover for the Truck and also a custom made 4x4 Camping Tent made for the top of my trailer... not yet, but only when I can afford it... who knows it could be my new home for a while.
I got a bargain as the Truck is a 2006 Model and has only done 70,000 Kilometres in 8 Years, the previous owner used the truck for his Lawn mowing and Landscaping Business.
I own the truck outright, and I paid cash from a compensation payout from the Australian Defence Force... so it is great to not have to pay any repayments on any of my vehicles.
The Truck also has a 5 Tonne Ram and Side Tipper, the truck can carry around 3.5 Tonne of Weight, not to mention my Trailer can carry around 1 Tonne, so I can make around $1000 a trip just for my Insize Steel (Heavy Iron etc)
It costs me around $150 a trip return 500 Kilometres to the City in Fuel (Diesel)
The truck is quiet slow when fully loaded, and obviously very slow when going up hills, and chews through the juice.
It is a 5 Speed Manual, with Airconditioning, Power Steering, Electric Windows, etc
As I say, I will be looking after this truck, I will not be Bush Bashing in it, or getting bogged etc... I will continue to use my Landcruiser for the serious Bush Trips and other Adventures I get up to.
Thanks Guys
Billy
